US X Factor Sets Shows Scedule And Adds Superbowl Ad to Prizing

Today, the show dates and schedule were announced. According to USA Today, the shows, which were filmed in front of a live audience this summer, will feature eight hours of auditions spread over four nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A Los Angeles “boot camp” phase will air October 5th and 6th. The contestants who make it past that elimination round will be divided into one of four groups: young guys, young girls, older singers and groups. Each will visit the judges’ “homes” in episodes beginning Oct. 12th for a chance to make it to the first live shows. The finalists will then be revealed on the first live show Oct. 25th, and final rounds begin Nov. 2nd with 90 minute performance shows on Wednesdays and the results shows held on Thursdays. The season finale will air in two parts on Dec. 21st and 22nd.

Also, show sponsor Pepsi revealed today that the first X Factor winner will appear in one of it’s Super Bowl commercials Feb. 5th on NBC which you can read in more detail at the Official X Factor facebook page here. The new Pepsi Super Bowl spot will go along with the previously announced $5 million recording contract with Sony Music/Syco. This prizing is quoted as being “the most lucrative prize package in television history”.
